As of September 1992 active as consultant surgeon at department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Thoraxcenter, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Introduced program for cardiac assist devices in our department (Heartmate XVE, Heartmate II) around 1999-2000. Then built section for lungsurgery, mediastinal surgery and pleural surgery (malignant mesthelioma). Acting chief of section of thoracic surgery within our department. Experience in cardiac assist devices, heart- and lung transplantation, oncologic thoracic surgery (lung, mediastinum, pleura). Introduced both VATS program and Robotic assisted program in our department. Built program for renal tumor growing into caval veins and heart and was active in building a multi-disciplinary team for thoracic wall resection and reconstruction. Carrer long experience in teaching residents and young surgeons in our department.
